Chemical Safety:
Course detail:
This half day programme is designed to train participants how to handle chemicals safely.
Objective:
On completion of this course participants will be able to:
• List routes of entry into the body
• Know and be able to apply general chemical safety rules
• Identify warning symbols
• Understand and use Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
• Understand and use Personal Protective equipment (PPE)
• Understand procedures for first aid response to a chemical injury
• Understand how to respond to a chemical spill
This course also includes a practical demonstration on the wearing of PPE and a practical demonstration on the dangers of chemicals and fire.
Who is this course designed for:
Non specialist staff who require a basic understanding on how to handle chemicals safely.
